International Food Show Invites Local Tortilla Chip Company

SAN DIEGO, CA - A California organic tortilla chip company, Whale Tails Tortilla Chips, with a big heart for ocean conservation has just received an coveted invitation to participate in the FOODEX in Tokyo Japan this March. Organized by the Japan Management Association (JMA), FOODEX Japan is the premier annual international food and beverage expositions, staged always in Chiba, a suburb of Tokyo, the World’s third largest trade shows for the food and beverage industry, is the number one annual professional trade event in the Asia Pacific.

The FOODEX Show typically attracts 2,262 exhibitors from more than 70 countries who exhibit their products and services to over of 97,000 trade professionals who visit the show during the four days of the exhibition period. The Show draws senior representatives from a wide variety of industry sectors including retails, wholesalers, distributors, food services, importers/exporters, and food and beverage manufacturers.

The 33st Edition of the International Food and Beverage Exhibition of FOODEX Japan will be held from March 11 to 14, 2008 at Makuhari Messe, Nippon Convention Centre, Chiba, Japan.

It is expected that thirty-nine percent of the participants will be first-time exhibitors at the Show, and another 30% have exhibited five or more times. Roughly 70% of the participants are usually from small- and medium sized enterprises, and more than 56% are food processors. Overall, exhibitors feel that the FOODEX represents good value and that it is well organized and managed.

Participants at FOODEX 2007 last year, reported making on-site sales and identifying an average of 14.3 sales leads each, worth an estimated $4.35 million in additional export sales in the twelve months following the Show.
Of these leads, 98% were reported in the Asia-Pacific region. Exhibitors at last year’s show also reported successfully introducing new products, maintaining their market presence, finding and supporting local agents and distributors.
