Carlsbad Gourmet to appear on Food Network show ‘Road Tasted with the Neelys’

( August 20, 2008 ) Carlsbad Gourmet, a local company based in Carlsbad, California that manufactures products using local ingredients, will make its debut on Food Network. Food Networks popular show Road Tasted will be returning this season with new hosts. Road Tasted with the Neelys, hosted by Gina and Pat Neely. Each week, more than 2.9 million viewers tune into Road Tasted with the Neelys.
Road Tasted follows Gina and Pat around the country in search of the best local, handcrafted foods along with finding all sorts of people, personalities and adventure along the way. The show offers a fresh, fun look at unique specialty foods and family run businesses that make one of-a-kind edibles. One of the most appealing parts of the show is that they will show you how to get all of those foods delivered right to your door.

The San Diego episode of Road Tasted with the Neelys featuring Carlsbad Gourmet aired as a series sneak peek on July 13, 2008. It will air again on September 2nd in the series’ regular timeslot, Tuesdays at 9:30pm ET/PT on Food Network. In this episode, San Diego: Sun-Sensational, Pat and Gina get started at Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. with yummy chocolate cookies (or “chocolate cheeks” as the owners say). The Neelys then stop at Chuao Chocolatier for handmade Firecracker Chocolate. Then, it’s off to Carlsbad Gourmet for some of the country’s best strawberries. Lastly, they discover all-natural Whale Tale Chips; ten percent of each bag sold is donated to ocean conservation.
